About
The Children's House, a montessori preschool in Davidson NC
The Children's House is a small private Montessori school and was founded in 2004, in
the town of Davidson NC, serving Davidson, Cornelius, Huntersville, Mooresville and Lake Norman. We have a single multi-age preschool class, catering from ages 3-5.
Location and Hours
We are located in the town of Davidson NC. We offer a
5 Day Program
Monday - Friday
8:00 - 12:00 pm.
Teachers and Staff
Teachers at The Children’s House are role models. We listen attentively and
think before we speak. We consciously teach our children to be kind and
courteous to one another and to treat each other and adults with respect.
The child receives specifically directed encouragement rather than blanket
praise — this feels more genuine to the child and fosters self-motivation
and positive self-regard.

Debbie Richardson // Founder, Director, Teacher
-
Debbie received her Licentiate in Speech and Drama from Trinity
College of Music, London. She obtained her Montessori Primary
Diploma, (birth to 6 years) and Montessori Elementary Diploma,
(6-9 years) at the London Montessori Center. Debbie has been teaching for over 18 years.
"At intervals, I have left preschool to teach elementary grades for a couple of years at a time, but I am always drawn back to the 3-6 year period. They are truly magical years; it is a time when the child's basic character and intelligence are being formed and I get to witness miracles of that evolution on a daily basis. It is a wonderous experience."

She returned to the workplace in 2007 as an assistant teacher at The Children's House.
The opportunity to provide children with enrichment in this setting proved a very
rewarding experience and she is thrilled to return for the 2008-9 school year. She is
